who we are

Beasties is Ruthcarol Touhey, Colin Touhey, Paul Orum, Michael Smith, Allison Bishop, Riley Wells and Colleen Walsh.

An animal lover since I was a wee Beastie, I cannot believe how lucky I am to get to work with them every single day. This small business adventure started in 2011 with a few years of dog walking under my belt. Since then, I have had the privilege of walking and boarding dogs (and sitting on cats) I like for people I like.

In 2017, Beasties welcomed walker Paul Orum (a yoga teacher and consultant on chemical regulations) and in 2018 Colin Touhey (yup! my husband!) joined our ranks. Allison Bishop joined the team as a pro walker in 2022 with a ton of dog expertise, she now is our top sub walker as she splits her time between DC and NC. Colleen Walsh is our amazing Daycare Supervisor - she wrangles, throws balls, snuggles, chases and loves on the daycare crew. Michael Smith joined in 2023 as a dog walker and is such a great addition to the team. Riley Wells joined us in early 2025 as a walker and Saturday Supervisor.

Beasties LLC is a fully licensed business in DC, insured and bonded (through Pet Sitters Associates LLC). We are Pet CPR and First Aid verified through the Red Cross.
